FCC Guidance - This session will be a soup-to-nuts "teach-in" on the developments at the FCC that will have substantial impact on WISPs and license-exempt spectrum. The session will be led by Bob Primosch of the law firm of Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP, counsel for the License-Exempt Alliance and a leading expert on license-exempt regulation. Topics will include spectrum allocation, tower/customer antenna sitting, building access, professional installation/equipment certification, universal service, and legislative developments of interest to all WISPs. TurboCell Advantages - Karlnet founder and Chief Technical Officer Doug Karl will examine the technical issues involved in using 802.11 radios (originally designed for indoor LANs) to provide carrier class WISP connectivity. There will also be a discussion on how KarlNet's TurboCell protocol suite addresses these issues. This session should be of great interest to anyone using 802.11 radios, TurboCell or COR/ROR products to deploy outdoor carrier class networks.

OFDM Advantages - Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology has been heralded as the next generation wireless enabler to replace the installed base of single-carrier radio systems and usher in a new world of IP-enabled metropolitan area network (MAN) architectures. This presentation will explore the classic first-generation single-carrier fixed wireless economic model as well as practical implementation architectures for second-generation OFDM-based non-line-of-sight solutions in the context of local markets. It will also explore the applications that are being deployed using broadband fixed wireless and the economic motivations for adopting this product technology in operators' networks.

Telecommunication Laws 101This session will address how the rapidly evolving world of wired telecom law and policy affects WISPs. Changes in the FCC and state commission policy, as well as pending litigation will  be discussed. Obtaining CLEC status will be analyzed including pros/cons and the myths/realities. Strategies for dealing with the Bells will also be considered. Ample time will be reserved to allow for questions and open discussion on any other telecom law issue.
