WISPCONs came into existence in 2002. As a WISP since 1996, the founder of WISPCONs knew the importance of learning. At the time, there was not really any place to go and see what others are doing, learn about what works and what doesn't, touch and feel the new technologies, and so forth.

Over the years, WISPCONs have drawn large interests from every sector of the License-Exempt industry. FCC Chairman Michael Powell even gave the opening keynote at WISPCON IV.

The WISP industry changes almost daily. Regulatory issues, technology changes and innovations, and new approaches. All of these things come together at WISPCONs.
