Equipment for that link can be as low as $12,000? This session will
show the attendees a multitude of approaches and business
solutions in the Licensed spectrum that is affordable to most
License Exempt WISPs.

Administrative - WISP 101 - Deployment
Concepts and Considerations, Leveraging Your WiPOPs -
The
proliferation of inexpensive consumer 802.11x equipment has
changed the stability and availability of much of the license
exempt spectrum for WISP-usage. To offset the effect of these
new "noise-sources", many WISPs should consider
building "thick" networks (or Micro-Pops) with several
access-points per square-mile to service densely populated
areas. In this session, I will discuss the advantages and
challenges faced by WISPs when implementing a Micro-Pop network.
The session will include real-world examples of Micro-Pop
systems. We will discuss several issues such as: hardware, costs
of equipment, support, maintenance, contracts and regulation.
Leaving this session, attendees will have a good understanding
of what a Micro-Pop entails as well as where and why to use
Micro-Pops
