To Safely Climb a Tower

where to mount your antennas and where not to. Possible

Exist Strategies
- Each WISP should be deploying their equipment and maintaining
their business one ONE concept in mind - Retirement!!! The panel
in this session will provide insight on how to plan and deploy
your WISP with the understanding that someday, you are either
going to sell-out to, or buy-out another WISP. Learn how to
establish and maintain a WISP that others will want to buy and
what will get you the most money for all your efforts.

Administrative - The
Thrill is Gone - Selling Your WISP
- The Good, the Bad, and
the Ugly of Selling your WISP. Most WISPs put their heart
and sole in their operations. But from a buyers standpoint, all
that hard labor, cold Sunday morning climbs and 2:00am phone
calls won't mean much when it comes to determining a fair-market
value for your WISP. Like family heirlooms, most WISPs will feel
that all their efforts should be compensated for during the
buyout. However, the buyers are most likely more concerned with
the future and not the past. They will want to see tower leases,
customer contracts, churn rate information and data that will convince
them that the purchase will return a profit in the future. Do
you sell your WISP based on income generated, an X factor per
customer, or are there more creative ways to sell a WISP?
Selling a WISP is not the same as selling a ISP and since the
WISP industry is relatively new, how does one determine a
fair-market value of the small WISP?

- VoIP
- Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
- One of the more
intriguing applications of Wi-Fi and Wireless Networks is the
carrying of voice services. This session will outline the voice
over Internet protocol (VoIP) over Wi-Fi application and discuss
its implications. As access to broadband data services
becomes more commonplace, many homes and businesses are
beginning to deploy telephony services based on IP technology. New
Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs) are beginning to
hang out their shingles every day. This presentation
begins with a brief technical overview of "legacy"
telephony, and in that context presents a comparative
introduction to VoIP. Basic functionality and
terminology is covered, followed by a detailed look at an
example VoIP call. Which VoIP Technology? People dipping their
toes into the world of VoIP soon find themselves inundated in
terminology, derived from both the Internet world and the world
of traditional telephony. Within the VoIP world,
several different fundamental technologies vie for market share. VoIP
and 802.11b: can it be done? The suitability of 802.11b for the
provision of VoIP is a subject of much discussion and not a
little disagreement. This session presents a
real-life case study of the use of VoIP in an 802.11b network,
focusing on contention, bandwidth requirements, QoS
considerations, and codec selection. A small wireless
VoIP system will be brought up during the course of the
presentation, and used as a platform to illustrate the various
considerations and tradeoffs involved in the use of VoIP on
wireless networks.

Awesome Power of OFDM
- This
session presents how Point-to-Point broadband wireless
technology has advanced and some of the technical hurdles to
overcome in making it business class/carrier-grade even in
demanding non-line-of-sight (NLOS) environments. The session
will also use real-world examples of WISPs, both in rural and metropolitan
locations, that are using carrier-grade NLOS wireless broadband
to satisfy a number of business customer demands.

Your ROI
- If
you are only looking at your monthly bank account statements to
see if you're making good money, you could be headed for
