About Hutton
Hutton Communications, Inc. headquartered in Dallas Texas, is
a distributor of commercial wireless communications and related
equipment. Hutton serves cellular and radio communications
dealers, wireless communications carriers and self-maintained
end users of communications systems. In addition, Hutton
provides its customers with power systems solutions for
emergency backup, alternative energy sources, or out-of-grid
power requirements. With multiple sales and warehouse
facilities, Hutton provides local sales support and fast
delivery to your location.
Mark Hutton founded the company, formerly M. Hutton and Company,
in 1967 as a distributor of aircraft electronics equipment. In
1977 Mark Hutton retired, and sold his interest to a
well-established private family investment firm headquartered in
Dallas, which still owns the controlling interest. In 1981
William C. Mueller purchased an interest in the company and
became its president.
In the early 1980's, Hutton's primary product lines changed from
avionics equipment to radio communications equipment and
communications test equipment, as well as photovoltaic (solar
electric) power systems. With this new focus, Hutton began an
evolution into a major supplier to the wireless communications
industry.
Hutton's success enabled the company to open a sales office in
Atlanta, Georgia in 1989, and within one year expanded the new
Atlanta office into a fully-stocked warehouse. During that same
year, Hutton had outgrown its Dallas location and relocated to a
40,000 square foot facility, and entered the Rocky Mountain and
Pacific Northwest Regions with the acquisition of Communication
Works in Denver and Seattle.
Hutton went international in 1994 with the purchase of a
majority interest in CanCom, Inc., now Hutton Communications of
Canada, Inc., with primary facilities located in Toronto and
additional sales offices across Canada. The company acquired
100% of Hutton Canada in 2000.
Hutton established a presence in the Upper Midwest region of the
U.S. in 1995 with the acquisition of Communication Associates
Inc. in Joliet, Illinois, and by the next year Hutton's rapid
growth extended to cover the Northeast and Atlantic states with
a new sales and warehouse facility in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Once again, the company's headquarters expanded into a new,
larger facility in Dallas in 1997. By April of 2002, Hutton
completed its North American footprint with sales offices in
California and a warehouse in Sparks, Nevada. Now Hutton
operates on a broad platform capable of delivering unsurpassed
customer service and supporting aggressive growth.
Upon the retirement of William Mueller in 2001, John C. Walker
succeeded Mr. Mueller as President. Hutton continues to be a
company that stands for honesty, integrity and the highest
ethical and business standards, and strives to continuously
improve the service and value delivered to our customers.
