WISPCON attendees can once again enjoy reduced hotel rates. WISPCON Guest room rates are:

WISPCON Attendees must register before January 24, 2007 to be eligible for the reduced rates. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: WISPCON immediately follows Mardi Gras. The Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel and Holiday Inn Express have graciously offered to honor the WISPCON reduced hotel rates for up to three days prior to WISPCON's official dates to allow our WISPCON attendees an opportunity to experience Mardi Gras. Subject to availability of course.

We have reserved only a specific number of rooms. If you register late, you may not be eligible for the WISPCON special rates. Therefore, make your guest room reservations as early as possible. Other hotels may not be available due to Mardi Gras or if available, may cost in excess of $269.00 per night.

Hotel Information -

WISPCON IX will be held at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel and Holiday Inn Express  - - DO NOT TRY TO MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS ON THEIR WEBSITE. To get the WISPCON IX discount room rates, you MUST call them with your reservation needs.  You can call the hotel at 888-696-4806 and ask for the Reservations Department. Make sure you tell them that you're coming in for WISPCON.

Sleeping - (Yea, right)   The hotel has about 700 rooms but we only blocked a portion of those along with a number of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express located a couple blocks away. I highly suggest that you make you hotel reservations as early as possible. Mardi Gras and other local events may preclude you from finding guest quarters.

Our staff has managed to get the normal $269.00 room charges down to as low as $119.00 per day at the Holiday Inn Express and $139.00 at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel. 

Air Travel - WISPCON IX will be using United Airlines as the "Official Airline". For an even greater savings, book your reservations at least 21 days in advance. When you call United's reservations desk, make sure you provide them the WISPCON IX Conference Code "XXX".  To make your United Airlines Reservations, call 1-800-521-4041

Ground Transportation - FREE WISPCON SHUTTLE - NOLA

Eating - The Astor Crowne Plaza has a restaurant located inside the hotel. Since the hotel is located on the corner of the French Quarter, there are plenty of resturants, all within walking distance. 

Arrival - As with all WISPCONs you may arrive Tuesday night and receive your conference materials and pickup your name badge. PART-15.ORG staff and WISPCON volunteers and Sponsors will be available at the WISPCON Registration Center, Tuesdays evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and anyone wishing to pickup their WISPCON handbook, name badge, and chat with other WISPers can also enjoy a complimentary drink (Stu and Larry, this means ONLY ONE) sponsored by WISPCON.
